Heavy Bud was given its name for a reason. It is an all-indica, very powerful, full-on stoner strain that packs a high THC content for a remarkably head-filling, couch-locking effect.
This one is not for beginners or lightweights but it is a great strain for first-time growers or novices as it requires little to no pruning or specialised care to thrive. It also takes up very little space and produces a good quantity of quality bud for its size.
The exact genetic makeup of this strain is unknown, however the breeder has commented that the goal with Heavy Bud was to develop a strain that would be versatile and adapt well to a variety of growing environments.
Indoors, it responds well in any growing medium including SOG type setups, potting, and soil. A consistently pH-balanced substrate and quality nutrients are all it needs to thrive. Indoor plants rarely grow taller than 100 cm.
Outdoors, the plants are formidably resistant to pests and plant diseases and will stand up well to fluctuations between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Just be sure to bring them in before any threat of a killing frost.
There is little worry of that happening, though, since these plants are fast-finishers and can be harvested beginning in September.
Yields for Heavy Bud will range from 300 to about 400 g per square metre and those numbers are consistent for both indoor and outdoor plants. Outdoor plants will grow considerably larger (up to 250 cm) and therefore will produce more by area.
The quality of product is said to be consistent between indoor and outdoor plants.
The flavour of Heavy Bud is very smooth, especially for an indica. You may not even need that water bottle. The taste and smell are delicate and fruity with notes of tangy citrus and just a slight hint of mint.
